Manufacturing Process

Over the years, we patiently broadened our production capabilities, building a deeply vertically integrated supply chain, from granule to textile.

Spinning

Production begins in the spinning department where Agripool’s machines run tirelessly all year long.

Polypropylene granules of the finest quality are mixed with colorants and stabilizers, heated and extruded into multifilament yarns. The threads are cooled with spinning oil and quickly wounded into bobbins.

The yarn can be twisted on itself, becoming more compact and suitable for different applications.

Knitting

The yarn continues its journey to the knitting department where hundreds of bobbins are loaded onto large creels feeding modern Raschel looms.

The looms knit thousands of threads into sizable fabric rolls of different colors and dimensions.

Machines are programmed to reproduce exact geometrical patterns linked to specific fabrics purposefully studied by Agripool.

Heat Setting

Onto the next processing phase, the material reaches a crucial point of its transformation.

The knitted cylinders are unwound and the fabric passes through a stenter with a constant temperature.

The heat-setting treatment provides dimensional stability while shielding the fabric against torquing issues.

Cutting

The fabric moves to the next processing phase and is ready to change its appearance.

Once tentered, it proceeds to the cutting department where specialized workers operate precise CAD machines.

Rolls are unreeled into overlapping layers and covered with a thin cartene foil. Thanks to air suction turbines, the layers are pressed together and the blades accurately cut the desired shapes.

Printing

In the printing department, plain textiles are customized and get one step closer to the finish line.

Serigraphic machines impress text and logos on cut fabric parts that pass through curing ovens to dry the fresh ink.

Agripool’s automatic stations handle multiple parts simultaneously and can print up to three colors per piece.

Plastics

Parallel to the yarn, another material follows its journey. Plastic production is also extensively integrated and many components are realized internally.

Layering extrusion machines transform polyethylene grains into plastic sheets. The slabs are thermoformed and cut into bottoms for grass bags and other components.

In the same department, several parallel lines extrude continuous J-Channel profiles and cut them at the desired length.

Assembly

Knowledgeable hands operate manual and automatic machines to bring textiles and plastics together. After stitching, a thorough final control ensures all parts meet quality expectations.

Once carefully packaged, Agripool products are ready to follow their thread across the world.
